Sarah’s passion for learning, community building, and accessible spirituality led her to Maharat. During her time in yeshiva, she was honored to serve at Congregation Bnai David–Judea in Los Angeles, as a rabbinic intern for Columbia graduate students through Columbia/Barnard Hillel, at Congregation Orach Chaim on the Upper East Side, the Shalom Hartman Institute, and the Drisha Summer High School Program. She also supported women through the conversion process.
Before Maharat, Sarah taught and held administrative roles in a range of educational settings, including Camp Stone, Friendship Circle, the Genesis Program at Brandeis University, the Drisha Institute, and the Maimonides School. She also worked in community organizing and political advocacy. Sarah studied at Midreshet Lindenbaum and earned a BA in Politics, Philosophy & Law and an MPA from Binghamton University. She will begin a chaplaincy residency at NYP–Weill Cornell this fall and lives on the Upper West Side, where she enjoys exploring neighborhoods and discovering new coffee shops.
