Born in Melbourne, Australia, Rabbanit Chanchkie grew up immersed in community with a passion for education. She is a deeply spiritual person and strongly believes that education and learning are the most powerful tools for self-growth, transformation, and affecting change in society at large. This passion led her to further her Jewish studies at Yeshivat Maharat. Today, she serves as part of the spiritual leadership team in her community in Malvern, where she combines her roles as an educator and pastoral guide. Her work is dedicated to fostering community, strengthening Jewish identity, and nurturing a sense of pride and belonging. She draws inspiration from the Torah, Jewish mysticism, and the rituals, customs, and songs that were such a vital part of her Chasidic upbringing, and is committed to incorporating these into modern-day life. She is also completing her chaplaincy training as part of the Spiritual Care team at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She works hard to balance her professional and communal responsibilities with her family life.
