David Frisch
Beit Midrash Program, Class of 2023
David Frisch grew up in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Jewish community. His academic and religious studies have focused on strengthening the communities and families that children require. To do so, David studied political theory, history, and religion as an Angier B. Duke Scholar at Duke University, graduating summa cum laude. Afterwards, David earned an MPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford as a Barry Scholar. He volunteered with the National Council of Jewish Women as a courthouse child care specialist and for three years in North Carolina as a court advocate for survivors of domestic violence.
David delivered the divrei Torah at several of Duke’s shabbat and high holiday services, served on the committees of the Oxford Jewish Society and the Chabad Society of Oxford, and serves on the advisory board for Pittsburgh’s Diller Teen Fellows program. He lives on the Upper West Side with his wife Pammy.
