Dr. Yedida Eisenstat
Advanced Kollel: Executive Ordination, Class of 2025

Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Yedida Eisenstat is a scholar, writer, and editor, currently based out of Washington, DC, where she lives with her family. She holds a Ph.D in Midrash and Scriptural Interpretation from the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she made the case that Rashi’s Torah commentary is best understood as a medieval midrashic anthology. She works as an associate editor at the Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization. She has also taught religion, history, and Jewish studies at Colgate University and York University. She is passionate about Jewish tradition and history—its richness and complexity—and helping others to understand, know, and appreciate it in all its depth.
